You know it’s a great night when an artist decides to stage dive at the end of their encore!! I’m so happy for Ellie Goulding, her band (Chris Ketley, Max Cooke, Joe Clegg reprising their roles with new addition, Simon Francis) and her team. The Lights album cycle must’ve felt incredibly long and drawn out with the late pick up by the US market - so it’s no wonder why they all looked so excited to be back onstage performing new material. What a great show - especially with the not-so-subtle coughing in between songs (Ellie gurrrl, your throat must kill!), the sudden sound outtage, mic feedbacks. I much prefer this sort of show! The loudest sing-a-long was for her latest single ‘Anything Could Happen’ - they looked especially energetic during this song. They played from both albums, but I was really interested to see how the Halcyon tracks would fare in the live setting and…..SUCCESS, they sound sassayyyy and kind of epic!
I don’t say this often but her second album is so different to her first  that it’s quite hard to compare - instead they compliment each other. Though I’ve only had a few listens of the album thus far, I can tell that it’s going to be in frequent rotation.
Sidenote: If I hated the album I would definitely say it but I don’t! Btw thanks Jamie for the love.
